As global populations grow and industrial activities expand, environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, deforestation, and resource depletion have intensified, posing serious threats to ecosystems and human well-being. This field seeks to understand the causes and consequences of environmental degradation while developing sustainable solutions to protect and restore the planet.

A major focus of environmental science is addressing global issues like Climate Change, driven largely by greenhouse gas emissions from human activities. Additionally, the loss of biodiversity disrupts ecological balance, while air, water, and soil pollution adversely affect both natural systems and public health. Environmental scientists emphasize the importance of conservation, renewable energy, sustainable resource management, and environmental policies to mitigate these impacts.</abstract>
